Canoe

The River Vanoi is one of the few unregulated rivers in the Alps and therefore ideal for kayak paddlers in search of adventure on rushing waters.

Technical skills and care, together with good training are all important for those who wish to practice this sport. There are two types of course here:

Very difficult fast course river
Only for experts

Course time 1 hour and a half
Average difficulty Class 5
Period May, June and in autumn after heavy rainfall

Boat type only one-man kayak fast course
Specific dangers Impassable gorge halfway along course, powerful current, steepness of gradient, boulders that force one to continually use complex manoeuvres, high psycho-physical stress factor.
Interesting points Rapids at the confluence with the Val Regana, obstructed rapids 300 metres above the road bridge, final rapids.


Medium course alpine river for expert paddlers
With low water levels also suitable for accompanied intermediate paddlers.
It is not possible to break off and land along the course before the finish.

In high discharge conditions class 4 with two sections class 5
In low discharge conditions class 3 with two sections class 4

Sicurezza Complete safety equipment and spare paddle
Specific dangers Flat on large boulder coming out of first section, small chute on left halfway along the second section, difficulty in getting out of the gully apart from some isolated points.
